These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Reckoning Desktop (the "App"), a desktop application provided by Dead Reckoning ("we", "us"). By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Reckoning Desktop is a local, offline-first creator tool. It helps you assemble short-form vertical video clips from video footage that you supply or select, and to publish those clips to your own TikTok account using TikTok's official developer APIs (such as Login Kit and the Content Posting API). The App runs on your own device; we do not operate a server that stores your content.
You must comply with TikTok's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and meet TikTok's minimum age requirement for the region in which you use TikTok. You may use the App only for lawful purposes and only with content you have the right to use.
To publish clips, you connect your own TikTok account and authorise the App to act on your behalf within the scopes you approve (for example, basic profile information and the ability to upload or post video). The App uses this authorisation only to perform the actions you request. You can revoke access at any time through your TikTok account settings, after which the App can no longer publish on your behalf.
You agree not to: (a) reverse engineer or misuse the App except as permitted by law; (b) use the App to spam, impersonate others, or manipulate platform metrics; (c) use the App to infringe intellectual property rights; or (d) use the App in any way that violates TikTok's developer policies.
The App, including its software, design and trademarks, is owned by us and protected by law. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App. Your Content remains yours; we claim no ownership over it.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any clip will be published, accepted or retained by TikTok.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, content, revenue or goodwill arising out of or related to your use of the App.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
